About the airport

The Havre Saint-Pierre Airport is located in the Minganie Regional County Municipality and primarily serves the communities of along with Lower North Shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

The airport was first opened in 1983 by the Department of Transport and continues to be owned and operated by Transport Canada. The airport is designated as a regional/local airport under the National Airports Policy.
