Purpose:
The purpose of this Civil Aviation Safety Alert (CASA) is to raise awareness of the missing spoiler spigot shim at MFS actuator installation and recommend corrective action on applicable Bombardier Inc. (BA) model BD-700-2A12 aeroplanes.
Background:
BA received a disclosure letter informing that contour sealant pads were used in lieu of metal shimming in MFS 1, MFS 2, and MFS 3 actuator installation on both wings. The missing metallic shim, which was intended to close a nominal design gap, in combination with the stack up tolerance may lead to a larger gap. The larger gap will result in high pre-load stress to the spoiler spigot bracket and the spigot anti migration feature. Over time, the high pre-load stress combined with a corrosive environment may lead to stress corrosion cracking. Eventually, if both spoiler spigot brackets fail and spigots migrate, the MFS actuator will disconnect.
BA issued a Service Bulletin (SB) 700-57-7532 Basic Issue, dated 26 August 2025, that provides instructions to remove the spoiler spigot brackets with self-contouring sealing pads, and install spoiler spigot bracket with metallic shims, Part Number (P/N) S10249-60-73-84A28 at MFS 1, MFS 2, and MFS 3 actuator on both wings.
The following figure illustrates the installation of the metallic shims P/N S10249-60-73-84A28 in accordance with SB 700-57-7532.

Recommended action:
For BA model BD-700-2A12 (Global 7500) aeroplanes, serial numbers 70006 through 70133 and 70135 through 70158, Transport Canada recommends that owners, operators, and maintainers remove and replace the spoiler spigot brackets as described in SB 700-57-7532 Basic Issue, dated 26 August 2025, or later revisions.
Within Canada, in accordance with the reporting requirement of Part V, subpart 21 (521) of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR), owners, operators and maintainers should submit a Service Difficulty Report (SDR) to Transport Canada for the discovery of each reportable service difficulty. Outside Canada, report any such occurrence in accordance with local reporting requirements.
