Jason Bett became the Director General of Communications at Transport Canada in June 2025. He brings over 28 years of professional experience in Canada’s federal public service, with expertise in strategic communications, public engagement, and corporate leadership. He has worked in both regulatory and economic portfolios, including the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), where he led nationally integrated communications teams and delivered high-profile Government of Canada announcements.
In 2018, Jason founded the Public Service Pride Network (PSPN), mobilizing the entire Government of Canada to drive systemic change and embed 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion across the public service. Through this initiative, he showcased Canada’s leadership internationally, co-hosting the inaugural Canada–UK Employee Networks Pride Summit in 2024 with the UK Civil Service LGBT+ Network and collaborating with Pride networks in Scotland, New Zealand, and Brussels.
Jason previously served as Visiting Senior Advisor at the Canada School of Public Service, supporting the 2SLGBTQIA+ Inclusion Learning Path and providing public servants with tools to foster inclusive workplaces. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science from the University of Ottawa and lives in Ottawa with his husband and their French Bulldog, Louie.
