Martin is the Regional Director General for Pacific, overseeing all of Transport Canada’s programs and operations in the region.
Prior to joining the Pacific Region team, Martin served as the Director General responsible for Engineering, Impact Assessment, Indigenous Relations, and Land Acquisition for the High Frequency Rail Project between Toronto and Quebec City. His 20-year career in Transport Canada has also included a key role as the Executive Director, Legislative, Regulatory and International Affairs for Marine Safety and Security where he was instrumental in the COVID-19 response in the maritime sector.
He began his career at Transport in the area of infrastructure funding delivery with increasing levels of responsibility. While working in this area, Martin launched the first $1.9 billion phase of the National Trade Corridors Fund and the first three rounds of project selection.
Prior to joining the department, Martin started his professional career at the City of Vancouver as a major projects engineer.
Martin has a Master’s Degree in Applied Science from the University of British Columbia and Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science from Queen’s University.
