Minister of Transport clears Santa Claus for travel

Minister of Transport, Steven MacKinnon: Good evening, Prime Minister.

Prime Minister, Mark Carney: Minister, we spotted an unidentified object on our navigation radar. It’s moving fast over Canadian airspace and all attempts to contact it have failed. Do you think it could be what I think it is?

Minister: I don’t know, but we’ll find out right away.

Minister: What’s the status?

Assistant: Minister, the unidentified object is approaching from the North Pole at incredible speed. We tried to communicate with it, but none of the frequencies seemed to be working.

Minister: I think I know who this is. We need to access the secret room.

Assistant: The secret room, sir?

Minister: “The” secret room.

[radio frequencies sound]

[sound of bells]

Minister: Santa, this is Steve MacKinnon, Minister of Transport for Canada. Make sure you stay on your flight trajectory and look after the reindeer. Merry Christmas!

Santa: Thank you, Canada! Ho! Ha! Ha!
