Scope of the standard
The CSA B626 standard sets out the requirements for design and construction of TC 44 portable tanks for the transportation of diesel fuel, a dangerous good included in Class 3. The certification, assembly, marking, modification, repair, testing, inspection and periodic retesting, maintenance, and identification of such tanks are covered by CSA B620. Selection and use of TC 44 portable tanks are covered by CSA B621.
Finding the standard in the TDG Regulations?
Section 5.14 of the TDG Regulations specifies that a means of containment selected and used in accordance with CSA-B621 is a permitted container for the transport of dangerous goods in Class 3 by road or by ship. CSA B621 invokes the CSA B620 standard in relation to the design, construction, certification, assembly, modification, repair, testing, inspection, periodic re-testing, maintenance, and marking of TC portable tanks. In turn, CSA B620 invokes the CSA B626 standard for the design and construction of TC 44 portable tanks.

Obtaining or viewing a copy of the standard
A copy of the standard can be obtained directly from the Canadian Standards Association (CSA).
