Options for compliance
The TDG Regulations refer to various safety standards published by the CSA Group and the Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) which cover various aspects of transport. In addition, requirements on small means of containment such as drums and jerricans can be found in standard TP 14850. These standards specify which containers can be used, and how they must be used.
In some circumstances, the TDG Regulations may provide some exemptions that could apply to the transportation of diesel and gasoline. For more information on the exemptions, consult Sections 1.15 to 1.50.
For more information, you can consult Transport Canada’s webpage on containers.
