"Fly Safe with RPAS": Operations Workshop
On January 29th, the RPAS Task Force held the French version of our virtual “Fly Safe with RPAS” Workshop, where we reviewed the basics of complying with Part IX of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) with respect to RPAS Manufacturer Declarations, RPAS Special Flight Operations Certificates (SFOCs), and RPAS Pilot Certificate and Training Provider requirements. Approximately 45 people attended, and a question-and-answer period took place following the presentations. Please note that, for privacy reasons, the session was not recorded. To obtain PDF copies of the presentation materials, please email TC.RPASINFO-INFOSATP.TC@tc.gc.ca.
Advanced Air Mobility California Industry Visit
From January 28-31, representatives from Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) joined a delegation of Canadian stakeholders, organized by the Canadian Advanced Air Mobility (CAAM) consortium, to visit three California-based Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) aircraft developers: Joby Aviation, Archer Aviation, and Wisk Aero. Additionally, the delegation visited NASA's Ames Research Center to gain an understanding of NASA’s research to enable AAM. This trip allowed TCCA officials to engage directly with leading industry players, gain valuable insights through site tours, and witness an AAM demonstration flight.
