If you build or modify Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), or “drones”, you can make a declaration to Transport Canada identifying the capabilities of the system.
Note: Please do not name the system you are making a declaration for in a way that can be mistaken for the original manufacturer making the declaration.
RPAS Safety Assurance declaration for modified drones
I hereby declare the following modifications to the identified makes and models of remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS), if made per manufacturer’s instructions, have been verified to comply with Canadian Aviation Regulations Standard 922 and Canadian Aviation Regulations 901.76 as identified below.
I understand and agree that by submitting this declaration I am responsible for ensuring this RPAS modification, for the identified makes and models, continues to comply with Canadian Aviation Regulations Standard 922 and Canadian Aviation Regulations 901.76 as long as the modification appears on the Transport Canada listing of RPAS with defined RPAS Safety Assurance Declarations.
