Design, manufacture and use of large packagings for the transportation of dangerous goods, classes 3, 4, 5, 6.1, 8, and 9.

CAN/CGSB-43.145 was published in April 2019 and was reaffirmed in 2024. This Standard would be incorporated in the TDGR once the Regulations Amending Certain Regulations Made Under the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, 1992 (Part 12 and International Harmonization Update) is published in Canada Gazette, Part II.

Scope of the standard

Large packaging exceeds 400 kilograms net mass or 450 litre capacity, and its volume is no more than 3m3. This standard sets out the requirements for designing, manufacturing, and marking of UN standardized large packagings and for selecting and using large packagings for the transportation of dangerous goods of Class 3, 4, 5, 6.1, 8 and 9.
