The following standard will be undergoing an update by the Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB). This standard sets out requirements for designing, manufacturing and marking of Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) and for selecting and using means of containment for the transportation of dangerous goods of classes 3, 4, 5, 6.1, 8 and 9.

Providing your comments
Comments for improvement to the standard may be sent to CGSB using the following instructions. All comments must include the following information:

Comments submitted to CGSB by means of a marked up copy of the current edition of the standard will not be accepted.

Next public consultation period
Once the committee has developed a final draft of the standard, there will be a 60-day public consultation period prior to publication. This consultation period is expected to take place in summer 2020.
