For a lot of us, driving is so natural that we don’t always give it much thought.
(CUT TO the interior shots to show what he’s referring to—someone with a bagel; someone using a smart phone’s touch screen. CUT BACK to our FIELD REPORTER. He addresses the camera.)
A lot of people eat… drink… scroll through music… and use their cell phones while driving. But when you’re on the move, those things take your attention away from the road.
(CUT TO: An amber light changes to red.)
Not paying attention can slow your reaction time, make you miss things and put you at risk. When you think that seven people a day die on Canadian roads—and that most of those deaths are preventable—it makes sense to stay focused.

Don’t text or eat your breakfast when you’re behind the wheel. And remember that being on the phone while driving is dangerous— and even illegal in most parts of the country.
Stay alert, pay attention and be safe.
