About NPA 2026-005

On June 8, 2026, Transport Canada published a proposed regulatory amendment aimed at:

  1. Safely integrating the growing number of RPAS into Canadian airspace;
  2. Reducing the regulatory burden and applicability of Part IX for recreational RPAS organizations and their members; and
  3. Creating more suitable mechanisms for Transport Canada to manage RPAS airspace access and communicate airspace access rules for RPAS pilots and operators.

Access the NPA here: Notice of Proposed Amendment (NPA) 2026-005 RPAS: Remote Identification, Community-Based Organizations, and Designated Airspace.

The consultation period is open to the public until September 9, 2026. To submit your feedback on the Notice, please complete the official survey.
