Appendix F - Licensing Applications for TC Personnel

1. Applications

1.1 TC personnel (i.e. Civil Aviation Safety Inspectors) requesting issue, additional rating and/or renewal of their AME licence are required to meet all

  1. Submission of appropriate documentation to substantiate basic training (if required).
  2. Submission of appropriate documentation to substantiate the required amount/type of experience (where applicable).
  3. Submission of appropriate documentation to substantiate the requirement for maintenance tasks (where applicable).
  4. Successful completion of applicable examinations (if required).
  5. Submission of the required fee.

2. Types of Experience

2.1 Refer to Appendix A, paragraph 4 and STD 566.03(4)(d).

2.2 "Acceptable experience" is considered to be hands-on experience that sought.

2.3 Occasional or indirect functions/duties associated with work performed while in a TC Inspector role or specific licensing areas is not acceptable experience and cannot be substituted for dedicated hands-on inspection duties.

2.4 When a TC employee is verifying the application or experience and an Acting Manager is assuming responsibilities on a short-term basis (60 days or less); the letter of experience shall be signed at one management level above the applicant's and actor's level.

3. Fee's

3.1 TC Employees, including Aircraft Services personnel, are required to pay all fees associated with the issue, additional rating and/or renewal of a licence.

3.2 Prevailing policy does not permit the waiving of fee payments required by CAR 104.

3.3 TC personnel may refer to MSI 32 for information regarding reimbursement of specific licensing fees.
