Remove an aircraft from the register

If your aircraft has been destroyed or permanently withdrawn from use, you must notify Transport Canada within 7 days. Transport Canada will remove the aircraft from the Canadian Civil Aircraft Register. Most information will stay publicly available through the register’s historical search. The registration mark may be made available for others to use.

To remove your aircraft from the register:

  1. Gather the information you need to provide:
    • the registration mark
    • the reason for removing the aircraft
  2. Go to Notification of Transfer of Aircraft Ownership (you will need to login or create a myTC Account)
  3. Follow the prompts to complete and submit the notification (select “Is permanently withdrawn from service or destroyed”)
