Transport Canada’s voluntary Technical Review Process of Marine Terminal Systems and Transshipment Sites (TERMPOL). TERMPOL is the technical review process for proposed marine terminals and transshipment sites. It focuses on vessel safety and operation in Canadian waters along shipping routes.
Through the Oceans Protection Plan, a review of the TERMPOL process was completed. For the next phase, a new Enhanced Navigation Safety Assessment Process has been proposed to modernize the TERMPOL process. This new process will be more timely, effective, and avoid duplicative marine reviews.
