I have been fascinated by computer science since I was a little girl. My name is Ilham Choukri and I am an IT technician at Transport Canada in the Atlantic region. I am located in Moncton. It has always been my dream to work in the field of computer science.
My work consists of helping clients within the organization with their technical problems. Helping people solve their problems makes me happy.
Our job is to make sure that everyone who works here, like the inspectors and others, has good equipment so that they can provide a good service to the public. My first dream was to become an international soccer player. I started playing with small leagues, then, gradually, I moved on to a more professional women league known at the national level.
And then one day, I decided to stop soccer and not join the team. Honestly, when i look at myself today, I am really happy with my choice. When I was in college, my professor talked to me about the FSWEP. Then, thanks to this program, I was able to start working as a student here at Transport. I feel lucky to be at Transport Canada.
For me, what is most important is the people I work with. It is really one of the things that makes me happy and motivates me every day.
