December 29, 2022 - Surf 9 issued a recall notice for inflatable paddleboards sold exclusively by Costco in Canada and the United States. The glued seams can separate causing the paddleboard to deflate suddenly, putting the users at risk of drowning. Surf 9 has received three reports of the Body Glove boards deflating. No injuries have been reported.
This recall covers about 7,000 Body Glove Boards sold in Canada and 13,000 ULI paddleboards sold in the United States.
The recalled products are:
- Body Glove Tandem Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board,
- ULI Inventor Inflatable Paddle Board (Item # 1557578 and 1557646),
- ULI Zettian Inflatable Supyak (Item # 1557629 and 1557651); and
- ULI Lila Inflatable Supyak (Item # 1557621 and 1557653)
If you have one of these paddleboards, stop using it immediately and return them to Costco for a full refund. You may also contact Surf 9 (https://www.surf9.com/recallandproductnotices) for instructions on how to receive a refund. Costco is contacting all known purchasers directly.
