Table 1: Fees and service standards for approval of works or exemptions

Approval of works category 1 TC will provide a tracking tool within 5 business days of receiving a complete application for a work that requires an approval.
Approval of works category 2 TC will provide a tracking tool within 5 business days of receiving a complete application for a work that requires an approval.
Approval of works category 3 TC will provide a tracking tool within 5 business days of receiving a complete application for a work that requires an approval.
Application for exemption TC will provide a tracking tool within 5 business days of receiving a complete application for a Governor in Council exemption of a navigable water from prohibited activities.

The fee for an application for an exemption will change based on inflation every year on April 1.

The fees for an approval of works will increase by pre-determined amounts on April 1, 2025, on April 1, 2026 and on April 1, 2027 (see Table 2).

All fees will change based on inflation every year on April 1, starting April 1, 2028.

Based on Transport Canada’s Policy on remissions, if we miss the service standard, some of your fees may be reimbursed.
