Background & Company Action:
Elfe Juvenile Products was contacted by a retailer concerning a consumer complaint regarding the illustrations. Elfe contacted the manufacturer, Graco, and all the products in the Graco inventory and Elfe distribution centre were inspected. During these inspections it was confirmed that additional units of the same model contained the incorrect illustrations. The company immediately stopped shipping the product until the instruction manuals were revised. In addition, they conducted an investigation into the time period and number of units affected.
Consumer Recourse:
Elfe will automatically send a sticker to registered owners to be placed over the incorrect page. Consumers that have not registered their restraint system are advised to contact Elfe Juvenile Products at 1-800-667-8184 so that the company can send them a sticker to be placed over the incorrect page. Owners that are uncertain about whether or not they have registered their unit should contact Elfe at the above number. Consumers should not return the affected unit(s) to the retailer.
