Issue:
Diono is informing the public of a non-compliance for Diono Radian 3QX child seats made between December 2019 through November 2024. Specifically, certain child seats may not meet the requirements of the Canadian regulations when installed in a rear-facing position using the universal anchorage system (UAS).
Safety Risk:
A child seat that does not meet the requirements of the Canadian regulations could increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Diono advises that owners may continue to use the seat in a rear-facing position if they install it using the vehicle seat belt. Owners should stop using the UAS in rear-facing installation until the Diono remedy kit is installed.
Company Actions:
Transport Canada’s compliance testing program uncovered the non-compliant condition. Upon being made aware of the issue, Diono began investigating the reported non-compliance.
Diono advises that you may continue to use the seat in a rear-facing position if you install it using the vehicle seat belt. Diono will notify registered owners in writing.
You should contact Diono to obtain a free remedy kit that includes a foam insert and instructions for how to install it.

Consumer Recourse:
The affected seats should not be returned to retailers or the company. Consumers must register their child seat online or call Diono’s customer care team (see ‘consumer contact’ above) to receive a remedy kit.
