Safety Risk:

Testing by Transport Canada’s compliance program has revealed that these products do not meet current head and chest injury limits.  These regulatory limits help ensure the safety of the child in the restraint system.  Additionally, it was found during a simulated crash test the adjustable recline foot might not remain in its installed position which might introduce slack in the vehicle seat belt or Universal Anchorage System (UAS) belt. In the event of a secondary collision theoretically the loose seat could increase the risk of injury to the infant in the car seat or other people in the vehicle.

Neither Learning Curve/TOMY International, Health Canada, nor Transport Canada has received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of these child restraints in Canada.

Consumer Recourse:

Consumers should visit http://recall.learningcurve.com/. Those with affected product should immediately stop using the recalled child restraints and dispose of the car seats as per municipal guidelines, and in such a way that the product could no longer be used.

Consumers can contact Learning Curve/TOMY at 1-888-899-2229 for more information.

Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.

Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form
(http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/cps-spc/advisories-avis/incident/index-eng.php).

If you believe a safety-related defect may be affecting your vehicle, tires or child car seat, report the problem to Transport Canada's Defect Investigations and Recalls Division.
