On some infant car seats, the lower universal anchorage system (UAS) used to attach the seat base could fail. If this happens, the seat could detach in a collision.
Safety Risk:
An infant seat that detaches in a collision increases the risk a child could be injured.
Company Actions:
Dorel will mail a notice to all registered owners with instructions not to install the infant seat base using the lower universal anchorage system (UAS) connectors.
Dorel advises that you can still use the seat with the base, or with the shell only, if you install it using the vehicle seat belt.
Consumer Recourse:
Contact Dorel Juvenile Canada to get a free replacement base.
If you haven't registered your seat, if you've moved, or if you have any questions about this recall, contact the Dorel Juvenile Consumer Care team at 1-877-657-9546 or RetractableLatchRecall@djgusa.com
