Issue:

Transport Canada wishes to inform the public of an error in the French version of the instruction manual for the Enspira infant/child/booster seat with respect to the routing of the Universal Anchorage System (UAS) belt when the seat is used in the rear-facing mode. Seats with this instruction manual were manufactured between October 08, 2008 and October 26, 2009, inclusively. The date of manufacture can be found on a label located on the seat.

The French section of the manual incorrectly states on page 36 that the UAS belt should be routed behind the crotch strap. The English section of the manual states on page 36 that the UAS belt goes in front of the crotch strap. The pictograms in both the English and French manuals are correct, showing the routing in front of the crotch strap. The information concerning the routing of a seat belt assembly is correct in both sections of the manual.

Seats shipped after October 26, 2009 will have a revised manual that contains the corrected information in the French section.

Consumer Recourse:

Transport Canada wishes to inform all parents and caregivers of the error so as to eliminate any possibility of confusion when following the installation instructions.

Consumers may call Dorel Distribution Canada at 1-800-544-1108 to request an insert for the French Instruction manual with the correct information or a new manual.
