Transport Canada is pleased to invite executive-level leaders (CISO, CIO, Directors) from Canadian municipalities, provincial and territorial transportation departments, and organizations managing road infrastructure to join our Executive Community of Practice (CoP) on Intelligent Transportation Services (ITS).

As road infrastructure becomes increasingly interconnected, it faces new cyber security threats that challenge traditional security measures. To address these issues, Transport Canada has established a community specifically for executive-level leaders. The objective of the Executive CoP is to share leading practices and resources to empower executive leaders with the knowledge and resources to effectively support their teams in protecting road infrastructure.

Why join?

  • Insightful briefings: Learn about what we have heard from road infrastructure owners and operators on the common challenges that they face, such as isolation from corporate IT support and uncertainty about future disruptions from connected and autonomous vehicles.
  • Best practices: Gain access to leading practices on how to support your teams in protecting road infrastructure and developing comprehensive incident response plans.
  • Valuable resources: Discover resources available from Transport Canada and other federal government departments.
  • Peer discussions: Participate in roundtable discussions with peers from other municipalities, sharing experiences and solutions in a safe and collaborative environment.

Session topics have included:

  • Cyber security threats: Understand the potential impacts of cyber security attacks on road infrastructure.
  • Incident response plans: Guidance on developing and testing incident response plans for road authorities through tabletop exercises.
  • Resource sharing: Information on available support and resources from Transport Canada and other federal entities.
