Once you hold an Aviation Medical Certificate, you must report any changes that could affect your medical fitness.
For example:
-
You must report any change to your medical status. You can do this by informing any Civil Aviation Medical Examiner (CAME)
-
You must tell any physician or optometrist that’s treating you that you're an aviation professional
-
You’re not allowed to exercise the privileges or your permit, licence, or rating if there’s a change in your health status that could affect your fitness to perform your duties. This includes illness, injury, or medications
-
You must “ground” yourself (not fly any kind of aircraft) for at least 28 days after using cannabis
Changes in your medical status could result in the temporary suspension of your medical certificate to reassess your medical fitness and allow for treatment and/or recovery. Recertification will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
