AUTHORIZATION PURSUANT TO PARAGRAPH 703.01(c) OF THE CANADIAN AVIATION REGULATIONS

Pursuant to paragraph 703.01(c) of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and after taking into account that the operation is in the public interest and not likely to affect aviation safety, I hereby authorize Sunwest Helicopters Limited, #4-1000 Ravenbourne Lane, Qualicum Beach, British Columbia V9K 1P9 to operate Bell 212 helicopters under Subpart 703 of the CARs.

Paragraph 703.01(c) states that Subpart 703 of the CARs applies in respect of the operation by a Canadian air operator, in an air transport service or in aerial work involving sightseeing operations, to any aircraft that is authorized by the Minister to be operated under Subpart 703.

PURPOSE

This authorization will allow Sunwest Helicopters Limited to operate Bell 212 helicopters under Subpart 703 of the CARs.

APPLICATION

This authorization applies to Sunwest Helicopters Limited only for the purposes of operating Bell 212 helicopters under Subpart 703 of the CARs.

CONDITIONS

This authorization is subject to the following condition:

Sunwest Helicopters Limited shall:

  1. transport no more than 14 passengers in the Bell 212 helicopters;
  2. operate under Visual Flight Rules conditions requiring one pilot; and
  3. a copy of this authority shall be carried on board the aircraft while operating in Canada.

VALIDITY

This authority is in effect until the earliest of the following:

  1. January 31, 2007; 23:59 EST;
  2. the date on which the condition set out in this authorization is breached; or
  3. the date on which this authorization is cancelled in writing by the Minister where he is of the opinion that it is no longer in the public interest, or that it is not likely to affect aviation safety.

AUTHORIZATION CANCELLATION

The authorization issued under paragraph 703.01(c) of the CARs, to Sunrise Helicopters Limited on July 18, 2005, at Ottawa, by the Director Commercial & Business Aviation, on behalf of the Minister of Transport, is hereby cancelled because it is the opinion of the Minister that it is no longer in the public interest or is likely to affect aviation safety.
