NCR-005-2026 - Re-issuance of NCR-089-2020

The purpose of this exemption is to permit Canadian air operators and the pilot-in-command to operate seaplanes under Subpart 3 of Part VII of the CARs while carrying passengers whose body mass is less than 15.88 kilograms (35 pounds) that are not wearing an inflatable life preserver, an inflatable individual flotation device or an inflatable personal flotation device when the seaplane is operated on or above water.

This exemption is a re-issuance of exemption NCR-089-2020, which expires June 5, 2026.

NCR-018-2026 - Cancels 048a-2007

The purpose of this exemption is to:

  • Change the validity period of a PPC to the first (1st) day of the twenty-fifth (25th) month following the month in which the proficiency check was completed;
  • Allow air operators using the PPC structure provided for under this exemption, that are also authorized in their Air Operator Certificate to conduct RVR 600 take-offs, to have the Chief Pilot, or his or her delegate, certify the Pilot-in-Command and Second-in-Command if authorized by the air operator for lower than normal take-off minima, as competent to conduct an RVR 600 take-off at the midpoint of the PPC validity. This certification is in lieu of the annual check within the preceding twelve (12) months in an approved synthetic flight-training device by an approved company check pilot or a Transport Canada Inspector.

Exemption 048a-2007 is cancelled and superseded by NCR-018-2026.

The purpose of this exemption is to allow the holders of licences endorsed with or to which is attached the privileges of an instrument rating to use the hours and instrument approaches flown without supervision in an aircraft in actual or simulated IMC for the purposes of maintaining recency, as was allowed in previous versions of section 401.05 of the CARs.

Exemption NCR-027-2021 is cancelled and superseded by NCR-019-2026, on the day the latter comes into effect.
