EXEMPTION FROM CHAPTER 507 OF THE AIRWORTHINESS MANUAL, PARAGRAPH 507.04(4)a) OF THE STANDARD CONCERNING FLIGHT AUTHORITIES OF THE AIRWORTHINESS MANUAL AND CANADIAN AVIATION REGULATIONS SECTION 507.04 FLIGHT PERMIT

Pursuant to subsection 5.9(2) of the Aeronautics Act, and after taking into account that the exemption is in the public interest and is not likely to affect aviation safety, I hereby exempt the SAG [Quebec Government air service], 700, 7e Rue, Jean Lesage International Airport, Sainte-Foy, Quebec G2G 2S8, which is subject to Subpart 4 of Part VI of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), from section 507.04 of the CAR Flight Permit and paragraph 507.04(4) a) of the Airworthiness Manual. Authorization to issue flight permits shall only be granted in respect of aircraft operated pursuant to CAR 706, subject to the conditions set out below.

PURPOSE

Pending final approval of NPA 2001-038, this exemption will allow the air operator SAG [Quebec Government air service] to authorize a flight permit for ferry-flights solely for the purpose of repairs and maintenance, as stipulated in 507.04 b) and c) of the Airworthiness Manual.

APPLICATION

This exemption applies to the aircraft listed below, which are operated under Subpart 4 of Part VI of the CARs.

CONDITIONS

This exemption applies on the following conditions:

The flight permit must be issued in accordance with the section of the Operating Manual which contains details of the maintenance control system, by the person responsible for authorizing ferry-flights, pursuant to Subpart 505 of the Airworthiness Manual.

VALIDITY

 

This exemption is in effect until the earliest of the following:

 

  1. December 31, 2004 at midnight;
  2. the date on which any condition set out in this exemption is breached; or
  3. the date on which this exemption is canceled in writing by the Minister of Transport, where he is of the opinion that it is no longer in the public interest, or that it is likely to affect aviation safety.
