EXEMPTION FROM PARAGRAPH 700.15(2)(b) AND 720.16(1) OF THE CANADIAN AVIATION REGULATIONS AND COMMERCIAL AIR SERVICE STANDARDS

Pursuant to subsection 5.9(2) of the Aeronautics Act, and after taking into account that the exemption is in the public interest and is not likely to affect aviation safety, I hereby exempt Kenn Borek Air Ltd. from subsection 700.15(2)(b) of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), subject to the following conditions.

This subsection references the standard 720.16(1) that limits DHC6 aircraft operated in scheduled service to flight and duty times that are more restrictive than DHC6 aircraft operated in non-scheduled service.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this exemption is to allow Kenn Borek Air Ltd. DHC6 aircraft operating in Resolute Bay, with minimum schedule service frequency, (summer only – 2 flights per week) to operate with the same flight and duty times that would apply were the aircraft used solely in a non-scheduled service.
