EXEMPTION FROM PARAGRAPH 725.106 SCHEDULE I, 2 (i) OF THE COMMERCIAL AIR SERVICE STANDARDS (CASS) MADE PURSUANT TO PARAGRAPH 705.106(1)(c) OF THE CANADIAN AVIATION REGULATIONS (CARs)

 

Pursuant to subsection 5.9(2) of the Aeronautics Act, and after taking into account that the exemption is in the public interest and is not likely to affect aviation safety, I hereby exempt Prince Edward Air Ltd., P. O. Box 2349, Charlottetown, PE, C1A 8C4, operating under Part VII, Subpart IV and recertifying to Part VII, Subpart V of the CARs, from the requirement set out in Paragraph 725.106, Schedule I, 2 (i) of the CASS requiring that flight checking is required within 30 days after the PPC in a synthetic flight  training device.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this exemption is to allow Prince Edward Air Ltd. to complete the flight- checking requirement on the Saab 340 aircraft for the following pilots more than thirty (30) days after the PPC in the synthetic flight training device.

APPLICATION

This exemption applies to the following Prince Edward Air Ltd. pilots in its operations under Air Operator Certificate Number 7259:

CONDITIONS

  1. All other requirements of CASS 725.106 shall be completed.
  2. All three pilots shall complete two hours of Cockpit Procedures training on the Saab 340 aircraft, prior to commencing the airborne flight training and checking.
  3. The flight checking in the aircraft shall be completed by October 20, 2006 23:59 Newfoundland Daylight Savings Time.
  4. This Exemption is only valid for the PPCs on the above named pilots.

VALIDITY

This exemption is in effect until the earliest of the following:

  1. October 20, 2006 23:59 NDST;
  2. the date on which any of the conditions set out in this Exemption is breached;  or
  3. (c) the date on which this exemption is cancelled in writing, by the Minister, where he is of the opinion it is no longer in the public interest or is likely to affect aviation safety.
