Helijet International Inc., is hereby authorized pursuant to Section 702.22(2)(a)

Helijet International Inc., is hereby authorized pursuant to Section 702.22(2)(a) of the Canadian Aviation Regulations, to conduct aerial operations at attitudes less than 1,000 feet above and less than 500 feet horizontal distance from the highest obstacle for the purpose of aerial photography for the motion picture "Sixth Day".

The operation will take place on Monday, May 15, 2000 between the hours of between the hours of 2100 and 2300 local time, depending on suitable weather conditions.
This authorization is subject to the following conditions:

  1. Operations will be conducted within the specified hours, under VFR conditions, using an AS 355F1 type helicopter.
  2. The route of the operation shall be the direct route between the Canada Post Office, Georgia Street, Vancouver, BC and the Vancouver Stock Exchange Building, Vancouver, BC, only.
  3. The Vancouver Police authority and the City of Vancouver shall be informed of and acknowledge the operation.
  4. Helijet International Inc., shall be responsible for ensuring that:
    1. the aircraft shall, at al1 times, be flown along a flight path which, in case of an engine failure or other in-flight emergency necessitating an immediate 1anding, shall ensure a suitable (autorotational) landing site without endangering persons or property on the ground;
    2. the aircraft shall be flown in compliance within the "Height-Velocity Diagram contained with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual;
    3. the aircraft indicated airspeed (IAS) be more than the safe single-engine speed (Vsse) when over the built-up area of the city or where no suitable landing area is available
    4. all personnel involved are briefed on the operation, safety precautions and emergency procedures before flight operations commence;
    5. persons carried on board the helicopter shall be limited to essential crew only;
    6. radio communications shall be established and maintained between the helicopter and Ground Safety Coordinator;
    7. the operation shall be coordinated with the appropriate Air Traffic Control authority;
    8. the following restrictions apply:
      1. prior to first flight for the purpose of this Authorization, an Engine Condition Check as per approved AS355F1 Rotorcraft Flight Manual, Section 4.2(2), "Checking the Engine Power on the Ground" shall be carried out. Both engines shall meet the condition "satisfactory" as described in Section 4.2(3.2) "Engine Condition", prior to further flight;
      2. the aircraft shal1 be configured such that One Engine Inoperative (OEI) Hover Out of Ground Effect (OGE) is assured at all times;
      3. flight profile(s) shall exclude rearward flight;
      4. for the purpose of this Authorization, the height of the aircraft shall never be less than 50 feet above the Vancouver Post Office rooftop level.
  5. This authority is subject to the observance by the air operator of the conditions of the authority. Any part of this authority may be suspended or canceled at any time by the Minister where he is of the opinion that it is no longer in the public interest or it is 1ikely to affect aviation safety or for cause, including failure on the part of the air operator, his servants or agents to comply with the provisions of the Aeronautics Act, the Canadian Aviation Regulations or any of the said conditions.

A copy of this authority shall be carried on board the aircraft while operating in Canada.
