ARRIVECAN POST-BORDER QUARANTINE NOTIFICATION ISSUE

Issue:

The ArriveCAN team identified a post-border notification glitch on July 14th 2022, that affected approximately 10,200 Apple device users.

During the period from June 28th to July 20th, and despite having submitted all the required information and their proof of vaccination using the ArriveCAN app, some travellers have received automated quarantine notifications when they should not.

The notification glitch was introduced on the ArriveCAN June 28th V3.0 release. Prior to June 28th, erroneous messages were not being sent to Apple device users as a result of this glitch.

Resolution:

The issue was resolved July 20th, 2022.

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) notified the impacted travellers to ignore these erroneous messages.
