Administrative Burden Baseline - 2014

In its Red Tape Reduction Action Plan, the Government committed to build on the efforts of the Paperwork Burden Reduction Initiative by requiring departments, through the Administrative Burden Baseline, to provide a count of the requirements in federal regulations that impose an administrative burden on business.

All federal regulations administered by Transport Canada that have requirements that impose administrative burden on business are identified below in alphabetical order.  The total June 30th, 2014 baseline count is 29694.

Many of the administrative requirements placed on business are fully automated and can benefit industry by providing key information about the current transportation industry outlook.  This information is also used by Transport Canada to develop evidence-based policies and regulations that support economic development as well as the safety, security, efficiency and sustainability of Canada’s transportation system.
