Reconnect to your myTC Account

Your myTC Account gives you access to Transport Canada’s online services.

If you can’t sign in, follow the instructions below.

In most cases, you’ll need to create a new GCKey and reconnect it to your existing myTC Account.

Lost or forgotten GCKey credentials

Forgot your GCKey password

  1. Go to the GCKey sign-in page
  2. Select “Forgot your password
  3. Answer your security questions
  4. Create a new password

Forgot your GCKey username or security answers

You must create a new GCKey and reconnect it to your existing myTC Account.

  1. Create a new GCKey
  2. Verify your identity
  3. Sign-in to myTC using your new GCKey
  4. Register using the same email address you used before or select “Reconnect your myTC Account to a new GCKey“ below the registration form
    1. If you use your email address:
      1. You’ll get a verification code by email
    2. If you use the reconnect option:
      1. You’ll be prompted to enter your email address
      2. get a verification code by email
    3. Enter the code to link your new GCKey to your existing account

Two-factor authentication issues

Lost or changed your two-factor authentication device

You may use various techniques to structure/organize your content, for example:

  1. Find your 12-character recovery code
  2. Sign-in to GCKey
  3. When prompted for two-factor authentication, select “Recover account
  4. Enter your recovery code
  5. Choose a new two-factor authentication method

If you don’t have your recovery code, email tc.portal-portail.tc@tc.gc.ca.ca.

Not sure which sign-in method you used

Your myTC Account can only be linked to one sign-in method:

  • GCKey, or
  • A secure online banking partner

Have more than one GCKey

If you don’t know which GCKey is linked to your myTC Account, email tc.portal-portail.tc@tc.gc.ca.ca.

You can only register and sign-in using one method: GCKey or a secure online banking partner.

Keep your sign-in information secure

Store your GCKey username, password, recovery code, and two-factor authentication details in a safe place.
