Programs Group

The Programs Group is responsible for managing programs and activities related to air, marine and surface infrastructure, waterways, the environment, and innovation including:

  • Administering Transport Canada's Grants & Contribution programs;
  • Managing Transport Canada's real property assets (e.g. ports, airports) and monitoring compliance of Canadian Airport Authorities, Canada Port Authorities and the St. Lawrence Seaway;
  • Reducing the environmental impacts of transportation;
  • Administering the Navigation Protection Program including authorizing construction of works on waterways;
  • Providing a Centre of Expertise for Indigenous Affairs to Transport Canada;
  • Managing Transport Canada’s Innovation Centre
  • Informing the government’s Impact Assessment Reviews of major projects, e.g. those for port development, resource extraction and movement of energy products.

Anuradha Marisetti
Assistant Deputy Minister, Programs

Bio

Anuradha (Anu) Marisetti joined Transport Canada in October 2018 as the Assistant Deputy Minister of Programs.

Anu has wide-ranging experience in leading large-scale operations and programs. She plays a key role in developing and implementing sustainable transportation frameworks that support Canada’s economic growth and connectivity.

Before joining Transport Canada, Anu held senior positions at the Correctional Service of Canada, as Regional Deputy Commissioner, and at the Canada Revenue Agency as Director General of Human Resources Branch.

Anu began her career at Health Canada where she was Regional Director of Ontario and Nunavut Regions. She holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Toronto and a Master’s in Public Administration from Queen’s University
