What is the training seminar?
Transport Canada’s Marine Medical Unit will be delivering a 12-hour virtual training seminar for Physicians and Nurse Practitioners who wish to be designated by TC to conduct occupational health assessments on seafarers. The training seminar will be delivered by adult learning specialists, TC occupational health physicians and other health/medical/seafaring professionals.
When is the training seminar?
There will be a training seminar in English and one in French. Each training seminar will be made up of two 6-hour blocks delivered virtually over two days. There are no fees associated with this seminar.
The English training seminar for this year will be held on the 19th and 20th of September 2024.
The French training seminar will be held later in 2024 or early 2025.
Both sessions are open for registration.
Where is the training seminar?
The training seminar will be held virtually; MMEs can attend from their office or the comfort of their own home.
Who should attend the training seminar?
If you have conducted marine medical examinations in the past but have not attended this training seminar yet, if you are an experienced MME and would like to refresh your knowledge, or if you are a Physician or Nurse Practitioner and are interested in becoming an MME, please register today. Please complete the registration form and indicate your preferred language at the top of the form.
