Issue:
On certain infant car seats, if the harness adjuster strap becomes frayed or worn, it may not meet the strength requirements of Canadian regulations.
Safety Risk:
If the adjuster webbing becomes frayed or worn, which can reduce the strength of the webbing, the webbing could fail to properly restrain the occupant in the event of a vehicle crash, increasing the occupant's risk of injury.
Company Actions:
CYBEX is providing owners of affected car seats a free remedy kit that includes a replacement central adjuster strap assembly and installation instructions for owners. Cybex will mail a notice to all registered owners. CYBEX urges affected owners to replace the webbing strap assembly currently on their infant car seat with the replacement provided in the remedy kit, as soon as possible.
Consumer Recourse:
Owners should contact CYBEX Customer Service to obtain a free remedy kit.
CYBEX has also indicated that if any owner notices that the central front adjuster strap is frayed, to please call Cybex Customer Service immediately at 1-877-242-5676.
