Wharfinger
La Romaine
The role of the Wharfinger is to ensure that the public and the clients using the facilities comply with the Canada Marine Act (Public Ports and Public Port Facilities Regulations) along with the Practices and Procedure for Public Ports. As the Minister’s representative, the Wharfinger manages the day-to-day operations at the port and facility.
The Wharfinger monitors all vessel traffic and activities within the Port Facility. They maintain a log of all traffic and report occurrences within Port Facility limits, and they produce related invoices to the Regional Transport Canada office.
Annual remuneration: $3,500

Education and Experience

A high school diploma from a recognized institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and related experience;
- Recent and significant experience* in harbour operations or marine transportation fields; and
- Experience in using Microsoft Office Suite.
Asset Qualification
- Significant experience* in the interpretation and application of laws, regulations and/or government guidelines; and
- Significant experience* in customer service.
*Recent and significant experience is defined as one (1) year of experience.
