Introduction
Canada’s industry groups, such as major airlines and air maintenance organization were required to use Safety Management Systems (SMS) as early as 2008.
Transport Canada still requires them to have an SMS in place.
Canada, at the State level will organize and lead SSP, the aviation industry will continue with safety management systems (SMS).
Having said this, industry groups play a critical role in advancing the objectives of SSP.
