ICAO, the International Civil Aviation Organization now requires member countries to establish a State Safety Programme.
The details of the Programme are defined in ICAO’s Annex 19- Safety Management. This is a part of a set of Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPS) that will help improve global aviation safety.
The Programme defines how the States (countries) will manage safety throughout their civil aviation system.
Government and industry will both play a critical part in the State Safety Programme.
