Transport Canada Aviation Safety Award: Nominate someone

Nomination process

To nominate a person or group for the award:

1. Download the nomination form, then complete and sign it
2. Prepare a supporting documentation package with the following elements :
   1. A document explaining, in writing, how the nominee meets the at least one of the selection criteria:
      • a commitment and exceptional dedication to Canadian aviation safety for 3 years or more, or
      • completing a program or research project that has significantly impacted the safety of public aviation in Canada, or
      • doing an outstanding act, work, contribution or service to Canadian aviation safety
   2. A document describing in writing, the nominee’s contributions, impact and importance to aviation safety, highlighting:
      • personal or group qualities, skills, innovation, commitment, dedication, strategic leadership, teambuilding, partnerships, or stewardship of the aviation community
      • organizing and deploying human or financial resources, or involvement or commitment at significant personal expense to a major program, project, research study, action or activity
      • the scope and impact of their work (benefits and results)
   3. Additional documentation testifying the candidate’s accomplishments, such as:
      • Letters of commendation
      • Statistics
      • Performance reviews
      • Reports
      • Articles from newspapers, magazines, or academic journals
3. Email the nomination form and supporting documentation package to Transport Canada at TCCAAviationSafetyAward-PrixDeLaSecuriteAerienneTCAC@tc.gc.ca by September 8, 2023 at 11:59 Eastern time

Timeline

• September 8, 2023: closing date for applications.
• February 2024: winner announcement.
• Fall 2024: launch of the nomination process.
