Transport Canada Aviation Safety Award: Nominate someone

Nomination process

To nominate a person or group for the award:

1. Download the nomination form, then complete and sign it
2. Prepare a supporting documentation package with the following elements :
   • Prepare a document summarizing how the nominee meets at least one of the selection criteria. (Max 1000 words)
     • A commitment and exceptional dedication to Canadian aviation safety for 3 years or more, or
     • completing a program or research project that has significantly impacted the safety of public aviation in Canada, or
     • doing an outstanding act, work, contribution or service to Canadian aviation safety
   • Prepare a document summarizing the nominee’s contributions, impact, and importance to aviation safety. (Max 1000 words)
     • personal or group qualities, skills, innovation, commitment, dedication, strategic leadership, teambuilding, partnerships, or stewardship of the aviation community
     • organizing and deploying human or financial resources, or involvement or commitment at significant personal expense to a major program, project, research study, action or activity
     • the scope and impact of their work (benefits and results)
   • If applicable, consolidate any supporting evidence testifying the nominee's accomplishments into (1) one document. This document can incorporate:
     • Letters of commendation
     • Statistics
     • Awards
     • Reports
     • Articles from newspapers, magazines, or academic journals
     • Web links etc.
3. Email the nomination form and supporting documentation package to Transport Canada at TCCAAviationSafetyAward-PrixDeLaSecuriteAerienneTCAC@tc.gc.ca by September 20, 2024 at 11:59 PM (Eastern Standard Time).

Timeline

• Summer 2024: launch of the nomination process.
• September 20, 2024: closing date for applications.
• May 2025: winner announcement.
