Modernizing the Canadian Aviation Regulations: General Aviation

Current status: Closed

Opens on April 4, 2023 and closing on May 8, 2023.

Transport Canada is conducting a regulatory review to modernize the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and its associated Standards. This work aims to make the regulatory framework more agile, coherent and risk adverse to better serve the needs of the aviation sector.

As part of this process, Transport Canada is engaging in multiple consultations with experts and stakeholders in the civil aviation sector, as well as the public to seek suggestions on areas where the CARs can be optimized to better serve Canadians. The Regulatory Review Initiative is being undertaken using a theme-based approach, where regulatory proposals are developed based on similar topics or grouped by parts of the CARs.

We would like to hear from you on how we can enhance, improve, or modernize regulations related to general aviation, with a focus on balloon, hang glider, ultralight, and parachute operations.
