Almost all of the 317 appointments for which you are responsible are currently filled through a merit-based process, but there is an ongoing need for selection processes to keep them filled. There will be high-priority vacancies coming up as terms expire in 2020 in five organizations in your portfolio. Launching processes to fill these positions by early 2020 will enable timely approvals of candidates by the Governor-in-Council:

  1. Canadian Transportation Agency (Chairperson’s term expires in July 2020);
  2. Canadian Air Transport Security Agency (Chief Executive Officer’s term expires in April 2020);
  3. Great Lakes Pilotage Authority (Chairperson position is currently vacant);
  4. Pacific Pilotage Authority (Chairperson’s term expires in June 2020); and
  5. Buffalo and Fort Erie Peace Bridge (Two of the five Canadian members' terms will expire in March and June 2020).
