  • November 18-29, 2019. Montréal, Québec. International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council, 218th Session - Council phase.
    • The Council is a permanent body of ICAO responsible to the Assembly, composed of 36 Member States elected by the Assembly for a three-year term, including Canada. The Council normally convenes three times per year to carry out the directions of the Assembly and to discharge obligations laid on it by the Convention on International Civil Aviation. During this Session, the Council will elect its new President for a three year term as well as appoint the President and members of the Air Navigation Commission (ANC).
  • November 21 to December 5, 2019. London, United Kingdom. International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council Extraordinary / Assembly and Council , including IMO Council election (November 29, 2019), for which Canada is seeking re-election.
  • Late November – early December, 2019. Announcement related to the Publication of the Annual Report on Canada’s Action Plan to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Aviation (voluntary Memorandum of Understanding with industry on reducing greenhouse gas emissions).
    • The Action Plan (2012-2020) is a voluntary approach between Transport Canada and the Canadian aviation sector to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
  • December 2-13, 2019. United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP25) High Level Meeting of Transport Ministers. Feria de Madrid, Madrid, Spain.
  • December 15, 2019. Coming into force of the second phase of the Air Passenger Protection Regulations (APPR).
  • January 23, 2020. Toronto, ON. Federal-Provincial-Territorial Council of Ministers Responsible for Transportation and Highway Safety (CoM) Meeting.
