NCR-033-2013 expired The purpose of this exemption is three-fold. It allows NAV CANADA, as holder of an ATS operations certificate, to provide air traffic services at specific operational locations under specific conditions. It allows air traffic controllers working for hire or reward for NAV CANADA to issue an air traffic control clearance or an air traffic control instruction, in the case of domestic airspace, in accordance with specific conditions rather than meeting the requirements set out in Subsection 2.1, Chapter 3 of the Canadian Domestic Air Traffic Control Separation Standards - 821. Finally, it allows air traffic controllers working for hire or reward for NAV CANADA to apply three (3) NM radar separation in accordance with specific conditions in Vancouver South sector, for which NAV CANADA has conducted an implementation safety assessment for the introduction of three (3) NM radar separation between IFR aircraft and has obtained approval by the Director, National Operations, Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA).

NCR-028-2013 expired The purpose of this exemption is to authorize persons who perform maintenance on GE turbofan engine models CF34-8C, CF34-8E and CF34-10E, installed or intended to be installed on Canadian aircraft, to install specified part number fan blades that have undergone maintenance and which are accompanied by a maintenance release contained in an Authorized Release Certificate issued by IHI, despite the fact IHI does not hold an approved maintenance organization (AMO) certificate issued by the Minister pursuant to section 573.02 of the CARs, and only until such time that an agreement or technical arrangement between Canada and Japan that provides for the reciprocal recognition of each party’s maintenance certifications is in place.
