Payments for Civil Aviation services

Except for a few service that use invoices, you must pay fees before we can start processing your application.

All Civil Aviation services are available for payment through the Online Payment System, including the payment of Transport Canada invoices commonly issued for medical certificates.

It is important to note that making a payment through the Online Payment System does not mean you have applied for a service. You must submit your application to your regional Transport Canada service centre. Including your receipt with your application facilitates the processing of your application.

Regional service centres

Our regional offices provide a wide range of services across various sectors, including the certification of people, products, and organizations, aircraft registration and leasing, as well as training and licensing of personnel, amongst others.

Clients are strongly encouraged to use Transport Canada’s preferred channel for submitting applications, which is digitally via email, to your local Transport Canada Centre listed below. This streamlined approach enhances processing efficiency and minimizes the need for physical document handling.

Exceptions include:

  • Examinations: available in person by appointment only at designated locations (see table below). To schedule and write private and recreational type exams, contact an Authorized Examination Invigilator near you. For all other types of exams requiring invigilation by Transport Canada, please use the Online Aviation Exam Booking Tool to schedule your exam.
  • Aviation Document Booklets (ADB): Save time by submitting your ADB applications online through the TC AIR mobile app – it’s faster both to apply and to receive your booklet. If you prefer to submit a paper application, it should be mailed to your primary regional service centre (indicated by an asterisk in the table below). In exceptional circumstances, a paper application may be delivered in person at a regional service centre, provided you schedule an appointment ahead of time.
