These standards and criteria are incorporated by reference in subpart 803 of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs). This publication prescribes standardized methods for use in designing instrument flight procedures.

General

The Transportation Information Regulations (TIRs) falls under the Canada Transportation Act. In accordance with section 12.6 of the Transportation Information Regulations as amended on April 1, 2015, class I and II rail carriers are required to collect and submit safety-related data elements to Transport Canada (TC) electronically on an annual basis.

Class I and II rail carriers are defined in the TIRs as the following:

Establishing a consent agreement under the Motor Vehicle Safety Act

Scope

This document is meant for any person or company who is regulated by the:

  • Motor Vehicle Safety Act
  • Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations
  • Motor Vehicle Tire Safety Regulations, or
  • Motor Vehicle Restraint Systems and Booster Seats Safety Regulations

Purpose

This document is meant to serve as a guide to the development of a consent agreement under the Motor Vehicle Safety Act (MVSA).

Dear Sir/Madam:

I am writing to advise you that the set of temporary exemptions to certain sections of the rules and regulations, pertaining to the qualification of railway personnel is granted under the notice of exemption X 21-12 (attached).

The purpose of these temporary exemptions is to mitigate the continued health risks involved with railway personnel travelling and assembling in groups to renew their qualifications during the novel coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
