Temporary Exemption / CROR, Track Safety Rules and Qualification Regs, February 18, 2022

Dear Sir/Madam:

I am writing to advise you that the set of temporary exemptions to certain sections of the rules and regulations, pertaining to the qualification of railway personnel is granted under the notice of exemption X 22-03 (attached).

The purpose of these temporary exemptions is to mitigate the continued health risks involved with railway personnel travelling and assembling in groups to renew their qualifications during the novel coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

The purpose of these temporary exemptions is to mitigate the continued health risks involved with railway personnel travelling and assembling in groups to renew their qualifications during the novel coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

Order pursuant to Section 32.01 of the Railway Safety Act (MO 21-07.2) Vaccination Mandate for Employees

Whereas the World Health Organization has characterized COVID-19 as a pandemic and this pandemic is affecting Canada;

Whereas, across Canada, all levels of government are taking measures to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19 or of new variants of the virus causing COVID-19 that pose risks that differ from those posed by other variants but that are equivalent or more serious;

Whereas the World Health Organization has characterized COVID-19 as a pandemic and this pandemic is affecting Canada;

Whereas, across Canada, all levels of government are taking measures to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19 or of new variants of the virus causing COVID-19 that pose risks that differ from those posed by other variants but that are equivalent or more serious;

Interim Order No. 2 Respecting Vessel Restrictions and Vaccination Requirements Due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Whereas the Minister of Transport believes that the annexed Interim Order No. 2 Respecting Vessel Restrictions and Vaccination Requirements Due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is required to deal with a direct or indirect risk to marine safety or to the marine environment.
