Request validation for an aeronautical product

How to apply

If the country, you’re applying for has a bilateral agreement or arrangement with Canada, follow the process that has been agreed upon by the two countries.

If there is no bilateral agreement in place, contact your local authorities to find out if what procedures are in place to apply for a Canadian validation.

To validate a non-Canadian design approval in Canada

By email

  1. Complete the Application For Type Certification Of Foreign Designed Aeronautical Products (Form 26-0630) or Design Change Approval application (for a supplemental type certificate) (Form 26-0469) and follow procedures in the respective bilateral agreement 2. Email your completed application and required documents to the address in your bilateral agreement or to the National Aircraft Certification Office

By mail

  1. Complete the Application For Type Certification Of Foreign Designed Aeronautical Products (Form 26-0630) or Design Change Approval application (for a supplemental type certificate) (Form 26-0469) and follow procedures in the respective bilateral agreement
  2. Mail your completed application including all required documents to the National Aircraft Certification Office (Ottawa)

After we receive your completed application, we will confirm by email with a project number and the name of your contact at Transport Canada.

To validate a Canadian design approval in a country other than Canada

By email

  1. Complete the application form identified in the bilateral agreement or Design Change Approval application (Form 26-0469) and follow procedures in the respective bilateral agreement
  2. Email your completed application and required documents to the nearest Regional Aircraft Certification Office or the National Aircraft Certification Office

By mail

  1. Complete the application form identified in the bilateral agreement or Design Change Approval application (Form 26-0469) and follow procedures in the respective bilateral agreement
  2. Mail your completed application including all required documents the nearest Regional Aircraft Certification Office or the National Aircraft Certification Office (Ottawa)
